Operational Structure

Lesson Structure

Private Lessons: 45, 60, or 90 minutes, tailored to individual goals.

Location:

  • In-person: High Point Friends Meeting, 800 Quaker Ln, High Point, NC 27262
  • Online via secure platforms (e.g., Zoom)

Languages: Instruction available in English and Spanish

Scheduling

Weekly Scheduling:

  • Fixed weekly lesson time required; school-age students must commit to a minimum of 16 lessons per semester for steady progress
  • Flexible scheduling available for adults; extra lessons available for fast-tracking beyond the minimum

Teaching Hours (In-Person):

  • Monday & Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:15 PM
  • Online lessons by request

Academic Calendar

  • Two semesters with a minimum of 16 lessons each (32 lessons/year), aligned with Guilford County Schools
  • Fall semester begins September 2025 (immediate openings available)
  • Virtual lessons available during family vacations
  • Spring semester aligned with Guilford County Schools, observing Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring breaks
  • Summer session available by request (minimum of 4 lessons)

Song Review System (Mandatory)

This system validates memorization, provides expert feedback, and tracks student progress.

  • Fully memorized piece with piano accompaniment
  • Clear video (violin+bowing visible), uploaded to YouTube as Private or Unlisted
  • Teacher feedback during lesson
  • Archive videos for ongoing progress tracking

Support Infrastructure

Parental Role

  • Attend lessons for younger students
  • Maintain focused practice space
  • Support home performances
  • Stay on-site for students under 18

Performance Program

Regular informal showcases encouraged:
